Is a fun one!
What car would you drive in a Year of Your Birth Rally?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
For 1988, I’m definitely goin’ AW11 MR2!
How about you?
Personal edit to the question: I interpreted this as what car would I realistically drive in such a rally, where I to run one in the relative future. If money weren’t an object, I’d go with a 911 Carrera Clubsport.
So let’s hear both of your picks; realistic and pie-in-the-sky.

1973 HQ Holden Monaro GTS 350 coupe manual

‘94 Impala SS.
I’d come last, but who cares.
If I was 1-3 years older I'd rally either a Syclone or Typhoon though.

1994 Bugatti EB110

All-terrain supercar? Hell yeah!

I’d keep it foxy in an ‘87 Mustang LX with a 5.0 and a stick. Something like this.
Pie in the sky? This!

Excellent choice.
Check out my update to the question, and let’s hear your other choice. ;)

Very nice! Check out my update to the question. Would this be your dream choice or realistic?

Do it!!!!! I thought about doing some Evo style flaps and front lights like those on my Camaro for the winter months.

1999
I don’t think I would be able to
finish
a rally course with any of those, but I’m sure as hell would have the most fun. Well, until one of those broke down.

Haha nice!

Realistic answer is obvious

I believe they’re actually referring to a road rally. These days when people mention rallies, everyone thinks of off-road stage rally.
I’d still be interested in seeing any of those attempt that sort of rallying though! Haha Brakim Racing is building a rally Lamborghini, so it can be done. ;)

1985 Puma GTV 033 (not really, but it’s a unique car from my birth year)

I’m into it.

1980. Any one of these.

Realistic:
Pie-in-the-sky:

Given that the rally would be mostly flat asphalt roads and not something like Ouninpohja from Rally Finland, Porsche 993 GT2.
(Pictured: not a GT2 but the best ‘rally’ 993 picture I could find.)
Realistic choice? Maybe an EG Civic.

Realistic: 1973 Chevy Nova.
Pie in the sky: 1973 BMW 2002tii.
And yes, compared to many on this site - I’m old. :P

Both excellent choices.
I got to drive an ‘02 for the first time a couple months ago. Talk about FUN cars! I need one in my life at some point.

Why haven’t we done this yet?
Oh, right. Garage space. :(

A ‘73 2002 (non-tii) is my “one that got away” story. I made the mistake of taking my E21 320i on the trip to go see it and test drive it. (It even had a full Korman suspension - it was awesome.) My 320i got jealous and decided to break down in multiple ways, preventing me from selling it and replacing it with the ‘02. I think it was something ridiculous like $1600, an absurdly low price today.

Well I’m old.
But that's okay, because my car is the awesomest.

I feel like that’s the reason we haven’t done many things. haha
If we ever do get the garage space, Jeff has all the Foxbody parts we’d need and then some. haha

Man, that sucks.
My one that got away was a pristine ‘93 ST195 All-Trac. The original and only owner was actually a little old lady, and the car only had like 80k (or perhaps it was 60k) miles on it. I let myself be talked out of it because of rare parts and costs to repair the AWD system should anything happen. They were asking $7k. I really, really regret not buying that car.

There can be only one answer for 1996.

You gotta grow the Burt Reynolds ‘stache to go with it though.

Another friend of mine had one of those. She loved it. Sadly, it burned to the ground. :(

Holy shit I just realized people born in 1996 are almost old enough to drink. Fuck.
